Kathryn Tice

Kathryn has been riding and showing horses for over two decades.  She currently works as a Veterinary Technician while pursuing her Ph.D in Equine Nutrition & Physiology at North Carolina State University.  While in college she rode on the IHSA teams for Bridgewater College and Georgia Southern University.  She also represented BC in the Collegiate Cup in Lexington in 2003 as well as Regionals at Hollins University.  She was ranked in the top 13 in the Southern United States in Hunter Over Fences in 2000 and has competed all over the south east in USET-"A", IHSA, 4-h, VHSA, SWVHJA, and PSJ show circuits.

She got her first racehorse when she was 10, which initiated her passion for retraining "ex-racers".

Michael and Vickie Pickwoad

The Owners of Nighthawk Farm.  They enjoy spending time outside, relaxing with the animals, and working on new projects together.  Together they make quite a team!  Michael grew up on the Eastern Shore, Maryland and has a lifetime of experience with horticulture.  Vickie grew up in Albemarle County, Virginia and in addition to loving all things "plants", she gained priceless farm management experience of her own having been raised on the family farm.  She definitely passed on the "horse-crazy" gene to her daughter, Kathryn.
